Mit Naturhefen vergoren und teils in der Amphore gereift, zeigt der Gitane die ganze Eleganz und den Charme der griechischen Rebsorte Malagousia (Malagouzia). Duftig, frisch und weich, erobert er die Herzen aller Weinliebhaber*innen. Die alten, ertragsarmen Buschreben stehen in ausgewählten Weinbergen auf Euböa. Nach der spontanen Vergärung liegt der Wein 4 Monate auf der Hefe, 30 % reift zusätzlich in Tonamphoren – nur 5.000 Flaschen wurden erzeugt.

Verkostung: fast klares, blasses Zitronengelb mit zart grün-grauen Reflexen. In der Nase: Zitrus, tropische Früchte, weiße und gelbe Blüten, Quitte, Aprikose, Kräuter und Brioche. Am Gaumen trocken, mit mittlerer frischer Säure, niedrigen Alkohol und leichtem Körper. Aromatisch ergänzt durch Orangenblüte, Ringlotte und feine Mineralik. Langer, lebendig-weicher Abgang – ein authentischer Malagousia voller Frische und Finesse.

Die große Liebe zu den Weinbergen Mittelgriechenlands, in denen sie seit 1997 ununterbrochen tätig ist, leitet die passionierte Önologin Vasiliki Akriotou.
Mittelgriechenland (griechisch Στερεά Ελλάδα Stereá Elláda, dt. ‚Festlandsgriechenland‘) ist eine der 13 Regionen Griechenlands.Es umfasst einen Teil des zentralgriechischen Festlands sowie die Inseln Euböa und Skyros. Hauptstadt ist Lamia. Das Wissen um das Weinpotential der Region ließ Vasilliki im Jahr 2016, unter dem Namen Orivatis (Bergsteiger) ihre erste persönliche Weinlinie kreieren. Der Name des Weines bezieht sich auf den herausfordernden und steilen Weg zur Kelterung von Spitzenweine. Herausforderndes Terrain muss man betreten. Terrain, um große Weine mit Charakter und Authentizität zu keltern. Die Familienweinberge ihres Mannes in Platea, Böotien, waren schließlich das Sprungbrett für die Gründung der Akriotou Micro Winery im Jahr 2018.
