Thrapsathiri ist eine der unbekannteren, aber eine sehr bedeutende, autochthone weiße Rebsorte Kretas und gilt heute als eine der vielversprechendsten Trauben der Insel. Sie ist sehr widerstandsfähig gegen Hitze und Trockenheit und erbringt hohe Erträge, was bei der Kelterung von Spitzenweinen sehr viel Augenmaß und strenge Ertragsbegrenzung erfordert. Im pittoresken Single Vineyard Mesmabelo findet sie idealste Bedingungen um ihre gesamte Persönlichkeit in einem superben Weißwein auszudrücken. Handernte, klassische Weißweinbereitung und kurze Reife im Betonei ergeben einen Weißwein voll Frische unterlegt mit einer feinen Cremigkeit.

Verkostung: blasses Zitronengelb mit Goldreflexen, in der Nase Aromen von mittel plus Intensität nach reifen Zitrusfrüchten (Limette, Bergamotte ,Kitro, Zitrone, Orange), Birne, reifer Zitrusschale, Zitronen- Orangenblüte, Kamille, Lorbeer, Minze, Brioche, am Gaumen: trocken, mittlere Säure, mittlerer Alkohol, mittlerer Körper, die Aromen ergänzt um etwas Quitte und Honigmelone, Mineralik, langer Abgang, ausgewogen, ganz hervorragend, mit sehr gutem Reifepotential
